Sunsetting projects

Projects created in partnership with Schaffer Library adhere to a digital lifecycle. This lifecycle includes:

  • Planning - including understanding the project and the best software tools available, functionality to meet goals, and scoping  appropriately to ensure success. At this phase, creators will review and sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that articulates project parameters and timelines.
  • Production - working to create the online project and any interactivity needed.
  • Dissemination - making the project live online, providing links within the classroom and beyond.
  • Disposition - when the project is completed, the work will be sunsetted based on the terms in the MOU.
  • Preservation - for selected projects based on the terms in the MOU, preservation steps will commence. This step is only for projects identified in advance for this step.
