- My Experience
- It was difficult for me to come back to Maine. I never intended to have to move back in with my family after I left for college. My parents moved during my freshman year, so I've never lived in the house I came back to. But after a month and a half, it's become clear that home isn't a location and I've enjoyed the quality time I've gotten to spend with my parents and dog. Furthermore, I've had more time to play guitar and write poetry in my free time. I wanted to write a short story about the difficulty of leaving campus and how grim things looked at my time of departure(which was a week after everyone else left), which was soon followed by spending my 21st birthday alone in my basement, but then share how spending time back home has made everything seem much less grim. I feel lucky to still be able to explore things that I am passionate about in these difficult times.
