Omeka in the Classroom
Omeka in the Classroom hosts projects created by students and faculty for research and teaching material presented from a course. These projects engage with library materials as well as personal materials to engage in new ways of learning.
Library Exhibitions
This site features a selection of current and past exhibitions held in Schaffer Library at Union College or using collections from the library. Exhibitions are an essential component of library services, providing an opportunity to showcase the wide variety of materials, projects, and collaborations possible through this medium.
The Adirondack Research Library and Kelly Adirondack Center
The Adirondack Research Library (ARL) is a vibrant educational and research unit of the Kelly Adirondack Center which supports Union College’s educational mission. The ARL actively collects and maintains a collection of archives, manuscripts, and published works documenting the Adirondacks, concentrating on all aspects of the conservation movement of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Research at the library is interdisciplinary in nature. The focus is not only on the importance of ecology, but also social and political issues impacting the Adirondacks. A collection of digitized documents including student honors theses, presentations from the Steinmetz Symposium, the Encyclopedia of Union College history and more.
Special Collections & Archives
Access to archival materials like letters, diaries, and scrapbooks and historical information produced at Union like oral histories.
The Union College Permanent Collection catalog (UCPC)
Union College holds over 3,000 works of art and material culture in the Permanent Collection, including significant cultural resources from internationally recognized artists and objects from Eastern and Ancient cultures. The Permanent Collection’s mission is to enhance the cultural life and the academic programs of the College community and the public at large.
