About Our Collections

Digital collections at Schaffer Library encompass material digitized from Special Collections & Archives and the Union College Permanent Collection, library-supported classroom and research projects, faculty scholarship, library exhibitions. and special projects. We make available primary sources, student theses, digital scholarship, and more.

Types of digital collections:

Library Exhibitions

Many of our materials from the Special Collections & Archives department have been featured in Library Exhibitions throughout the years. We have a catalog of past exhibitions going as far back as 2008. Our exhibitions are accessed via Omeka.

Primary Sources

ARCHES is Schaffer Library’s Academic Repository for Cultural Heritage, Education, & Scholarship. It provides access to archival and primary source materials like letters, diaries, scrapbooks, and more. Digitized materials represent collections from Special Collections & Archives, the Adirondack Research Library, and the Union College Permanent Collection.
