Cohoes has faced many threats when it comes to water quality since the first settlers arrived. From sewage in the Mohawk to leaky pipes, Cohoes has it all. We can see leaky pipes as an enduring issue for Cohoes. In 2025, the city faced around 3-4 pipe breaks a day during the wet spring. It raises the question: what is getting into the pipes, and are the pipes leading to lead and other harmful substances getting into municipal water in Cohoes?
